Our partnership with Carers Trust
There are seven million unpaid carers in the UK. Every single day, they give up their careers, their education, their ambitions and their free time to care wholeheartedly for someone they love. A lot of us know someone like this. The friend who’s looking after their terminally ill mum. The single parent who quit their job to look after a grandparent. The teenager, who’s skipping college to help their little cousin, who’s struggling with mental health. As a company who sees the huge impact that care has on others, that really struck a chord with us. That’s why we started supporting Carers Trust back in 2020, to help give back to those who give so much to others.
Meet our bouquets designed by young carers
While being a carer is really rewarding, it can mean having to make sacrifices when it comes to careers, education, ambitions and free time. Because of their caring responsibilities, young carers don’t always have the grades or work experience that employers usually ask for to land their dream job. So, to help some young carers learn a new skill (and get a bit of respite), we invited a group of them to our flower studio. They met with our florists and got to design their very own bouquet. For each one sold, we donated £1 to Carers Trust.
Billie's Pick
When Billie picked out these stems, she was inspired by the wonders that lie within the ocean. Like its exotic wildlife and colourful coral reefs. You can see it really clearly in the ruffled fuschia and peach carnations.
Juwariah’s Pick
These stems were specially picked by Juwariah, who was inspired by the way the earth changes colour as it transitions from summer to autumn. She’s chosen a sunset spectrum of chrysanthemums, snapdragons, kangaroo paw and hypericum berries.
Ramla's Pick
Ramla used the air as inspiration when picking out these stems – more specifically, the animals that use it to get around. That’s why there are lots of lovely butterfly colours like tangerine carnations, orange freesias, purple statice and coral roses.
You’ve helped us raise over £650,000 so far
Carers Trust provides support, resources and respite breaks to the people who endlessly care wildly. Since 2020, we’ve donated a portion of sales from our Florist’s Pick bouquet and Instagram to them, raising an incredible £673,810.15 so far (and counting) for unpaid carers. This funding has helped support up to 2,000 unpaid carers through practical and wellbeing support, crucial training essential to their personal development, and over 1,000 items they need to deliver their caring roles.
