How to make a vase. From a pumpkin.

Give your flowers the Halloween treatment with a vase that’ll stop people in their tracks. This technique works with all shapes and sizes. Whether you want to style a whole bunch of flowers in one big pumpkin or style single buds in lots of little munchkins. Use our steps below to create the perfect DIY pumpkin vase – or, if you’d prefer, follow along with our video tutorial.
Step 1:
Cut a hole in the top of your pumpkin
Step 2:
Scoop out the innards and place a glass or vase inside
Step 3:
Add your blooms and foliage. Place your stems at different heights and pop your most show-stopping flowers at the front for an artful display
The flower crown for your pumpkin
Got enough vases? Give your pumpkin a cuter-than-cute twist with a flower crown instead. It’ll add a regal touch to Halloween’s main character in just a few simple steps.
Step 1:
With a marker pen, dot the outline of your flower crown onto the pumpkin
Step 2:
Use a metal skewer to poke holes (about 2cm deep) into the dots
Step 3:
Trim your stems (at an angle). The stems beneath the flower head should be about 2cm long
Step 4:
Slide your stems into place

Step 1:
Make sure to have some dried, pressed flowers to hand. You can follow our easy guide to flower pressing here (steps 1 to 4).
Step 2:
Give your pumpkin a thorough clean, and pat it dry.
Step 3:
Using a paintbrush, layer on some water-based glue.
Step 4:
Using tweezers, carefully place your pressed flowers onto the pumpkin. We've gone for a maximal, all-over pattern. But feel free to get creative!
Step 5:
Cover with a final layer of glue to secure everything, and leave it to dry. The glue will dry clear.
