How to Wrap Christmas Gifts Like a Pro: Easy Tips

Preparation and Materials

Choose the Right Paper: If possible, select thick gift wrap. For adde ease, paper with grid lines on the underside will help with precise cutting and prevent tearing.

Gather Supplies:

  • Wrapping paper

  • Scissors

  • Tape (double-sided preferred, but regular sticky tape works too)

  • Ribbon (optional)

  • Decorative accessories (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Gift

  • For awkwardly shaped items, place them in a box first

  • Square and rectangular shapes are easiest to wrap

  • For a professional finish, pre-fold paper edges by about 1 cm to hide uneven cuts and create crisp lines

Step 2: Measure and Cut Paper

  • Place the gift upside down on the paper

  • Cut paper with enough excess to comfortably cover the entire gift

Step 3: Wrapping the Main Body

  • Position the gift upside down on the cut paper

  • Fold one of the longer sides of the wrap over the gift

  • Fold the bottom flap on each side and secure with tape

  • Cover with the top flap and secure again

1. Cut ribbon to approximately 5 times the size of the gift 2. Lay ribbon flat and place gift face down in the middle 3. Lift both ends and tie a knot at the back 4. Turn ribbons to wrap around the shorter length of the gift 5. Flip the gift over and secure excess ribbon 6. Use remaining ribbon ends to tie a decorative bow

Final Touches

  • Hide visible tape with ribbon

    • Secure additional decorations underneath the bow using twine or string
