Meet the magical, colour-changing Coral Charm peonies
Yep, they’re a thing. Known in the industry as Coral Charm peonies, this stunning variety is famous for its dreamy colour-changing petals. Over a few days, they’ll burst open and turn from brilliant coral to pretty pink to vintage cream. Just. Like. Magic.
And these bright blooms are always the first peony variety to blossom each spring, which makes them doubly exciting. But they’re only in season for a really short time, from late April to early May. So don’t miss your chance to send them. We pop ours in the post while their still in bud, meaning they can fit through the letterbox and burst into life at home.
Our top peony care tips
Peonies have a short-but-sweet vase life compared to other flowers. But they’ll still give up to 5 days of beauty if you follow our care tips below:
1. Wipe away any sap
Sometimes these peonies have some sticky sap around their buds but you can clean them by gently dabbing the head with a warm, damp sponge.
2. Trim them at an angle
Trimming your peonies by at least 3-5cm allows water inside to hydrate them. And cutting them at an angle gives as much surface area as possible to drink from.
3. Find the right home
Keep away from direct sunlight and radiators (as they’re dehydrating) and fruit (because it releases gases that make flowers fade).
4. Keep trimming
Re-trim your stems by 1cm every few days. This will help your water to flow into them more easily.
5. Change the water
Flowers don’t like drinking dirty water, so remember to refresh your vase water every few days.
