More about our flower delivery service
FAQs - Letterbox Flowers
What are letterbox flowers?
Letterbox flowers are fresh bouquets sent in a slim, sturdy box designed to fit through a standard UK letterbox, so they're delivered with the post and nobody needs to be in to receive them - Bloom & Wild invented letterbox flowers back in 2013.
Each stem is hand-packed and sent in bud, with protective nets on the more delicate flowers, and every box comes with flower food, care instructions and styling tips. Because they arrive in bud, they last longer once they're in water. We guarantee most of our fresh flowers will last at least 7 days, and many last up to 10 days with proper care and regular water changes.
How do letterbox flowers work?
Pick your favourite bouquet and we'll hand-pack it in bud in a custom-designed, flat cardboard box that has been designed to fit through the letterbox, along with flower food, care instructions and styling tips. We'll send it via Royal Mail's Tracked service, unless you opt for Premium delivery with DPD, and email you a tracking link so you can follow its journey. The receipient does not need to be in to receive it.
When your flowers arrive, trim the stems, pop them in a vase and watch them open over the next few days. Follow the care and styling tips to enjoy them for as long as possible.
How do letterbox flowers fit through the letterbox without getting damaged?
It's all down to the packaging and the timing. Our letterbox boxes are custom-designed to be slim enough for a standard letterbox and strong enough to protect what's inside. We send the flowers in bud, when they're at their most resilient. Delicate heads get protective flower nets, and stems are hand-packed and secured so they don't move around in transit.
Once they're in water, the flowers open up fully, so they look their best after delivery, not before it.
What's the difference between letterbox flower delivery and regular delivery?
The main difference is that letterbox flowers don't need anyone home to receive them. Regular flower delivery usually means a courier bringing a hand-tied bouquet, often already in water, which has to be handed over or left somewhere safe. Letterbox flowers come in a flat box, travel with the post and arrive in bud, so they last longer once arranged. We guarantee most of our flowers will last at least 7 days, and many up to 10 days with proper care.
Our letterbox bouquets start from £19 and come with free next-day delivery via Royal Mail Tracked when you order by 10pm, Monday to Sunday, subject to availability.
Regular delivery suits big, ready-to-display bouquets. Letterbox delivery suits busy recipients, surprise gifts and anyone who enjoys arranging their own flowers.
Can you send flowers to someone who's never home during the day?
Yes, and that's exactly why Bloom & Wild invented letterbox flowers. Our letterbox bouquets go through the door with the rest of the post, so nobody needs to be in to sign for them. There's no missed-delivery card and no trip to the depot.
The flowers are packed in bud and protected for the journey, so they're happy to wait on the doormat until whoever they're for gets home.
What's the best flower delivery for busy professionals who work long hours?
If the person you're sending to works long hours, letterbox flowers are usually the most reliable choice. They go through the door with the post, so there's nothing to sign for and no missed deliveries. You can order until 10pm, Monday to Sunday, for free next-day delivery, subject to availability, and track the delivery through Royal Mail.
Because they're sent in bud, they'll still be fresh if they wait on the doormat until the evening. And if you're the busy one, a flower subscription means fresh flowers arrive on a schedule you choose, without having to remember to reorder.
Can I choose the delivery date for letterbox flowers?
Yes, you can choose the delivery date for your letterbox flowers at checkout. We offer free next-day delivery in the UK when you order by 10pm, Monday to Sunday, subject to availability.
Are letterbox flowers suitable for all occasions?
Yes, letterbox flowers are a great choice for many different occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, or to say thank you. They're convenient because they can be delivered without someone needing to be there right away, and they bring the beauty of fresh flowers right to your door.
Whatever the occasion — or even just because — letterbox flowers make it easy to send something thoughtful when you can't be there in person.
Can I add a card with my letterbox flowers?
Yes, you can add a greeting card to your letterbox flowers to include a personal message or greeting. We offer a range of colourful cards for free, or you can upgrade to include a premium card.
What should I do if there is an issue with my letterbox flowers?
If anything's not right with your letterbox flowers — they've arrived later than expected, or they're not looking their best — get in touch with our friendly Customer Delight team by email, live chat or phone.
They'll sort it as quickly as they can — whether that's a replacement, a refund, or another fix, depending on what's happened. Just let them know your order number and what's gone wrong, and they'll take it from there.
